Using a DJI F450 NAZA Quadcopter with a GoPro sportscam Campsmount S.T.E.M Club has yet again managed to get some fantastic aerial footage. We will soon be setting free our weather balloon to 100,000ft and the footage from that should be outstanding. If you want to know more please feel free to pop along to S.T.E.M Club on a Tuesday evening in D2.
If you live in Campsall village can you spot your house in the video below?

The focus of the Teaching Collaborative meeting on Tuesday 17th January was the launch of Campsmount’s Professional Enquiry Groups. The presentation is shown below. Discussions centred around the question: ‘What is a professional learning community and how would you recognise one?’. JPO also highlighted the role of participants and co-facilitators within the enquiry groups. A draft of the School Improvement Plan was also distributed in order to make links to our whole school T&L priorities.
Slide 11 shows the different groups accompanied with the enquiry question. A quick Google form has been sent to colleagues in order to choose their 1st and 2nd group preferences.
A BIG THANK YOU: The attendance of just over 30 teachers (in such a busy week!) is indicative of the commitment of Campsmount’s teachers in continually seeking to further develop their expertise – Thanks to those who also wished to attend but gave their apologies.

It’s a new term a this is a new start to Campsmount Climbing Club. We are looking for new students to join us in this exciting and challenging sport. It is open to any age group, girls, boys and staff. It is a great way to keep fit and build strength. You do not have to have any previous climbing experience and all the equipment is supplied by the centre.
We will be using the outstanding Leeds Wall as our indoor base and will be, in the summer months, taking some outdoor trips to various climbing locations.
This is an awesome sport and I am sure all involved will love it.
The dates we have booked are: 27th Feb, 12th / 26th March, 16th / 30th April. These are all on a Monday after school and we aim to get back to Campsmount for 7:00pm.
Please see Mr Gualda or Mr Huntridge for more details.
The dates booked are:

Despite uncertain economic times our 6th form students delivered a record 108 hampers to elderly members of our community. The hampers were made up of kind donations of food and money from Campsmount’s students and staff. This record haul in such austere times simply shows how caring people can be and we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed. Well done to our 6th form students and staff!

It has been another exciting and challenging year at Campsmount and once again we have emerged both stronger and more united. The new building is on schedule and progressing well and we are all looking forward to moving into our new ‘home’ next Easter. This will provide us with a superb learning environment to help us continue and progress the excellent work we have done over previous years. I would like to pass on my personal thanks to Wates and everyone involved in the new build project.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone associated with Campsmount; students, staff, parents, governors and the wider community for your unflinching support and hard work that makes the school such a special place. Have a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful, prosperous New Year.
Andrew Sprakes
Headteacher
IMPORTANT NOTE: School will close for Christmas at 2.00pm on Friday 16 December 2011 (buses have been re-arranged for this time) and we will re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2012.
