CAMPSMOUNT NEWS
Wednesday 7 July 2010
NEW BUILD FOR CTC – Following the various news coverage, over the last couple of days, regarding Building Schools for the Future (BSF) I just want to clarify the situation from Campsmount’s point of view. The first thing I want to say is, don’t worry! We have already got a substantial amount of money from the insurers that we are going to use to make sure we re-build Campsmount. We are working very closely at the moment with the Local Authority, Department for Education and Partnership for Schools, who deal with the capital build for schools, to look at how we might source additional funding to make sure that we get the school back up and running on the site at Campsmount. I am still very positive and optimistic about the whole prospect. Don’t worry, our students will not have to go to other schools, we are going to re-build Campsmount and hopefully it will be in the timescale we originally set out. We’ve had a fantastic year and we are very much looking forward to starting on the new build. I’m also pleased to report that we have a new website up and running at www.ctcmail.net
YEAR 11 PROM AT ROGERTHORPE, TUESDAY 29 JUNE 2010 – The students arrived in a variety of transport, from the traditional stretch limousine to a fire engine and JCB digger. Students were impeccably turned out; the gentlemen in their suits and the ladies in a range of stunning evening dresses. Rogerthorpe did us proud with a lovely buffet and a wonderful evening was had by all. (End of term newsletter to follow with photographs).
‘EUROVISION DANCE CONTEST’ AT CAMPSMOUNT, Wednesday 30 June 2010, saw another spectacular Dance Show at Campsmount. Students from Campsmount, Askern Spa and Norton Juniors performed a total of 10 dances, inspired by the theme ‘Music from the Movies’. Those present described the performance as energetic and inspirational. The winning team was Denmark, though competition was very tough.
