Our School Day

Breakfasts are available  to purchase from 8am-8.30am in the main hall dining room as part of our extended school facilities.

​Our school day starts at 8.30am. Students have PREPARE time every morning. This is where form tutors can ensure that students are equipped and in the correct uniform, ready for the school day ahead. 

 

 

PREPARE Time:

Every morning, staff remind students of our 'Universal Principles' and the following:

Attendance – Be present and on time
Uniform – Wear full school uniform
Equipment– Planner, Pen, Pencil, Ruler
Routines – In lessons and beyond the classroom
Notices – Be informed

Students are made aware of the school's Code of Conduct and are asked to commit to it whenever travelling to and from school and when involved in extra-curricular activities representing school:

•Attend school regularly and on time;
•Wear full school uniform and be smart in appearance;
•Bring appropriate equipment to every lesson;
•Complete all my classwork and Campsmount LEARN tasks on time and to the best of my ability in terms of content and presentation;
•Be polite, co-operative and respectful to all members of the community;
•Respect school and community property and buildings, using them sensibly and keeping them free from litter and graffiti;
•Not use my mobile phone on school site.
•Act in a manner that keeps everybody safe

Assemblies take place Monday to Wednesday for all years.

We have five one hour lesson periods a day, with a swift turn around in between lessons.

​There is a morning break of twenty minutes, from 10.40am to 11am. Lunch break is 12-12.30pm for years 10, 11 and Post-16. Years 7, 8 and 9 have lunch at 12.30-1pm.

At Campsmount we promote healthy eating choices. Any fizzy or energy drinks brought into school will be confiscated if the student is found consuming them on site. Students are not permitted to use their mobile phones in the school building and if they are found doing so their phones will be taken off them until the end of the school day, where they can collect these from Main Reception.

​Students are provided with a timetable at the start of each term, along with a student handbook. 

Lesson times are:

  • 8:30am - Official student arrival time
  • 8:30am - 8.40am - PREPARE time
  • 8.40am - 9:40am - Period 1
  • 9:40am - 10:40am - Period 2
  • 10:40am - 11:00am - Morning break
  • 11:00am - 12:00am - Period 3
  • 12.00 - 12.30pm years 10, 11, 12 and 13 lunch
  • 12.00 - 12.30pm years 7, 8, and 9 ASPIRE time
  • 12.30 - 1.00pm years 7, 8 and 9 lunch
  • 12.30 - 1.00pm years 10, 11, 12 and 13 ASPIRE time
  • 1:00pm - 2.00pm - Period 4
  • 2.00pm -3.00pm-Period 5
  • 3.00 - 3.45pm-Period 6 Monday-Thursday (Year 11 only)

The compulsory school day starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:00pm for year groups 7 to 11). This time runs from the official start of the school day (PREPARE) to the official end of the compulsory school day. It includes breaks, but not optional before or after school activities. This amounts to 32.5 hours in a typical week.
