Campsmount Academy

Arrangements for March Return

We are looking forward to bringing the students back into school during the week beginning 8th March. Further to the communication sent out earlier in the week I am now able to share with you the arrangements for reopening Campsmount Academy and the plans to test students for Covid-19 on their return.

As you will have heard in the news, the Government are asking all schools to test students for Covid-19 prior to their return.  To allow us to organise this, the students will return over a period of five days.  Indeed, a number of year groups will be called in early to start the testing process, allowing us to get all our students back into school in as short a time as possible.

Testing arrangements for all year groups are as follows:

Arrangements for Test 1

  • Students in tutor groups will be allocated a set time to be tested. Details will be sent via ParentMail.
  • On arrival, students will wait outside the entrance to the Sports Hall at their allocated time.
  • Students will be required to leave the site immediately after their test and return home for their lessons on Teams.
  • Students do not need to wear uniform for test day 1 as they will only be on site for a short period of time.
  • Students are expected to attend all online remote lessons throughout the day, with the exception of any time lost for testing.
  • Parents will be notified of the result via text/email from NHS track and trace, if the result is negative, your child will officially start on their allocated return date. If the result is positive, you will be contacted by school.

Tests 2 and 3 will be completed over the next few weeks around learning time, Students must attend school as normal during this time.

Students will not be tested without a completed consent form. If you have not given consent for your child to be tested, your child must return on their official return date.

If your child has previously tested positive for Covid-19, it is important they are NOT retested for 90 days after their result. If your child has tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 90 days please notify the academy via email on covid19@campsmount.com please include your child's full name, year and tutor group.

We understand that the students have faced challenging circumstances over the last few months. Once again it is really important that we establish the academy expectations and routines.

  • Timings for the school day for all year groups is 8.35am to 3pm.
  • All students must wear full uniform on their official return date to the academy. As per expectations, trainers are not permitted and hoodies/sports jumpers must not be worn under blazers. Students may wear a plain v-neck jumper and a coat or jacket if required for outside social time.
  • The government has recently changed the requirements for face masks in school and therefore students will be expected to wear a mask (no scarves) at all times whilst inside the building (exemptions apply). Students do not need to wear a mask outside during social time. It is a requirement for the students to be prepared and ensure they have a mask (and ideally a spare) on their possession every day.

You will shortly receive a ParentMail with further details of your child's allocated time and date for test 1. If you have not yet completed a consent form and would like your child to be tested, please follow the link below:

Consent Form

Once Again may I thank you for your continued support and understanding during these challenging times. If you have any questions regarding the reopening of Campsmount Academy and testing plans please do not hesitate to contact the academy.

Kind regards,
