Campsmount Academy

Partial School Closure

Dear Parent,

Following on from the letter dated Monday 5th December, you will be aware that we have been very fortunate as an academy to have managed staff absence during the autumn term and have avoided year group closures in comparison to other schools.

Covid-19 cases have, unfortunately, increased for both students and staff over the past few weeks and this is now having a negative impact on teaching and learning. We have put a series of strategies in place this week to avoid any year group closures but due to further increase in staff absence we unfortunately are unable to safely accommodate all students in school for the remainder of this week. As a last resort we have therefore made the decision to ask students in Year 8 to access their learning remotely at home on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th December 2022. All other year groups should continue to attend for the remainder of this week.

Students in Year 8 are expected to access their work, in line with their timetable, via TEAMS. Work will be posted on the class team by a member of staff. The lessons will not be live however, the work will be monitored by the classroom teacher. We expect all students to be back in school on Monday 12th December as normal, however we will continue to keep you updated, should this change.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please be reassured that we will continue to do everything we can to avoid further year group closures and this will always be a last resort strategy.

Kind regards,

Ian Midgley
Principal
