A day full of sporting activities was held for Campsmount Key Stage 3 students in our academy's annual sports day.
Students from years 7-9 took part in various sporting activities in a full day of sporting fun.
All key stage 3 students, at various times of the day, were taken to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield to compete in events including long jump, javelin, shot-put and 60-800m races and relay's. Students of all abilities, and their teachers, had the opportunity to represent their tutor group in the plush surroundings of the EIS, where some of Great Britain's Olympians regularly train. Competition was fierce on the track and in the field.
An alternative sports day was also taking place in school and saw students compete in some more traditional sports day activities; the sack race, egg and spoon sprint, welly wanging, space hopper races and a very colourful dodgeball tournament.
The students effort and teamwork were terrific throughout the day. There were some fantastic performances across the year groups with students keen to try their best. "It's not about the winning but the taking part and having fun. I'm proud of everyone who gave it a go as it's not always easy for some but I hope everyone enjoyed the day". said Mr Mankin, PE Teacher.
It was certainly an 'eventful' day, of which our students and staff thoroughly enjoyed. Please take a look at the many photographs taken on the day in our Online Gallery.
